Everybody still alive ;-) ?

Let's collect some names Scotty and Kelly call each other. Here it is "Captain Midnight" and "Herman".

I collected some names, and I'm sure there are much more. Please tell me and I will add them to the post. If someone knows a bit about the background of a name, please tell us. (Erm... It took me watching the episodes at least two times until I recognized them doing Stan and Ollie *g*)

I've never done a comprehensive accounting, but two more that leap to mind:

Holmes

Fred C. Dobbs (Humphrey Bogart's character in the movie "Treasure of the Sierra Madre"). This is sometimes abbreviated to "Fred C.," or, as Kelly calls Scotty once, "Dobbsy".

And, Watson. And, was there a 'Captain Marvel', or was that fanfic?

Whoah, now that you mention it, I think I misremembered the line from "Lisa"! I do believe that he actually calls Kelly "Captain Marvel" in that scene, not Captain America. You are so right.

Now, I'm wondering if "Captain America" shows up someplace else, or if my mind just did a substitution. I think I can hear it in my head, uncontextualized, but memories can be funny things. Hmmmm.

This is just a guess, but Miles may refer to Miles Davis, a famous American Jazz trumpet player.

I think your guess is spot-on. Miles Davis had a distinctive and famous hoarse/rasping voice, and in "Vendetta," when Scotty is there to rescue Kelly, he's whispering very hoarsely, which prompts Kelly to start whispering hoarsely himself (while laughing) and say "It's a little difficult to explain, Miles...".

Oh! I just remembered that in "Lisa," when captured-Scotty has been tossed into the room with captured-Kelly, and then is rolling around on Kelly to get him to wake up and pull his morale up out of the dark pit, Scotty calls Kelly "Captain America."

And of course, when Scotty calls Kelly "Hoby," he's Bill Cosby teasing Robert Culp by calling him the name of his previous character, "Hoby Gilman," from the TV Series "Trackdown."

Sorry I'm late -- I haven't got much to add, just now, to the 'names' discussion.

However, that screencap? The pink and the blue and the light and the shadow and the green of the steering wheel and of the earphone ... it's gorgeous!!! Thank you!
