[identity profile] potztausend.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] wonderfulness
After all those hand-touching and domestic screencaps it's now about some technical items in the 1960s. *Please* be brave - there is only one screencap of each Scotty's and Kelly's face in my posting. But I'm sure there are more to come in 2012 ;-).

It's from the Episode "Court Of The Lion".

A Geiger counter

I was very astonished as I watched this scene. I never knew there were electric toothbrushes in the USA already in the 1960s!

"One of our bombs is missing"

I promised one screencap of Scotty's face. This is just a nice old treadmill with some of his lower parts...

"Trial By Treehouse"

A car phone back then... wow.

"Will the real good Guys please stand up"

A woman in gold - must be "Pinwheel".

This is one of my favorites *g*.

It's portable! (I had a portable tv set in the late 1970s...)

"The beautiful children"

Here is Scotty... at least a part of his face.

That's a wonderful collection of 60s tech! Thank you for sharing. :-)

(I think I like the treadmill and the pic of part of Scotty's face the best... :-))

I like the pocketwatch!

The next-to-last one looks like a Dalek. ;)

Darlin', Doctor Who is STILL on. It ended for about ten to fifteen years, then was revived (or regenerated for those who understood the joke) and has been running since about 2005.

Oh, gosh, not by a long shot--just off the top of my head I can think of several that ran longer than MASH. Gunsmoke and Bonanza are just two.

Doctor Who is lots of fun and changes Doctors every two to four years so if you don't like one, you might like another. The current Doctor, number 11, isn't my fave, but I adored Doctor 10.

Oh, how FUN!!!

I just ***love***this. Really. Oh, and you reminded me of that 'super-modern, state-of-the-art' tape recorder they used in "Cops and Robbers". You respect them so much for thinking of it, and even today they would probably need something still quite big - not less than half that size - to have a speaker that can play a human voice and sound realistic, you know, not like a laptop speaker - but still, you think of today's MP3 recorders, and smile!!!

This was just a wonderful, great post, and I love it just as much as the eye candy posts. (Even though I have a weakness for that "Welcome home".) It's really fun to see how much technology - especially miniaturization! - has changed in 50 years. I remember reading that the computers we now have in our *mobile phones* (auf Deutsch, Handy, right?) used to take up a whole room...

Cool post! Really interesting that they had electric toothbrushes that early! And the car phone.
